Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) launched a daily nonstop Hanoi (HAN)–Hong Kong (HKG) service on 30 September 2026, its second Hong Kong route after Phu Quoc–Hong Kong. For Hong Kong travellers heading to northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Sapa), that means one more nonstop option to compare.
Reported schedule
- 9G530: Hanoi ~09:20 → Hong Kong ~12:05
- 9G531: Hong Kong ~13:05 → Hanoi ~14:00
- Initially one round-trip per day; English reports describe a full-service product including checked baggage and a meal (about 23kg checked bags in one report — treat as indicative until you book)
Why it matters from Hong Kong
- More Hanoi seats / timings alongside Cathay Pacific, Vietnam Airlines, HK Express and others — useful for short breaks.
- Phu Quoc in parallel: VNA reported SPA planned to raise Hong Kong–Phu Quoc to two daily flights from 5 October (reconfirm before travel).
- Da Nang ahead: the same report said a Hong Kong–Da Nang route is targeted for later in 2026 (final frequencies TBD).
Planning northern Vietnam
From Hanoi, classic add-ons include Ha Long day/overnight cruises, Ninh Binh day trips, or onward travel to Sapa. See our transport & visas page, plus Hanoi and Ha Long.
